IAGD’s “Survey”

ASAK. After seeing MCWS’s thoughtful and lengthy survey asking its community for input on services and facilities needed in the future, it was extremely disappointing to receive IAGD’s “survey” in the mail with a grand total of ONE question.

The one question is whether you prefer a single floor prayer hall as presented in Plan I or a two floor prayer hall as presented in Plan E.  Copies of the plans are enclosed with the questionnaire.

The letter indicates that the Board of Directors has unanimously approved moving forward with the expansion plan, but since we are being sent two plans, it is unclear if one or both have been unanimously approved.  The letter also indicates that there is a $6.9 million total budget limit for the entire project, but a cost estimate has not been obtained from a reputable construction company for either plan, so it is unclear how they are going to stay within this budget limit.

While the Expansion Committee has been working on this plan for the last three years, the community has until Saturday, August 11, 2012 (less than two weeks) to return the “survey.” There is no indication why the community is being given such a short period of time to respond. The letter indicates that it is important to get your feedback as it will directly impact the project, although how that feedback will impact the project is not indicated.

Very little information about the plans was sent with the “survey,” so I will do my best to present an analysis of both plans on this blog. I hope that this information will make it easier for you to respond to the “survey.”

It’s the classic strategy. Ask a man if he has stopped beating his wife. Either way he answers, he’s screwed!

Too true! But, not surprising either, given the countries most of the IAGD ‘founding families’ came from. It’s a lot like the elections they are used to seeing in the ‘Muslim world’.
